    Guys,

I’ve got a fridgemaster fridge to look at that appears to be malfunctioning. It’s just over 12 months old, what happens is that the fridge is either off (when the thermostat is set to zero) or freezing when the thermostat is clicked on (i.e. above zero).

Would I be right in thinking that the thermostat is to blame, I’m fairly new to repairing appliances and have only a basic knowledge of fridges, I’m sure that it’ll be an easy one for you guys to diagnose.

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Mark

Most likely is that it’s a thermostat fault, but that would be unusual at only 12months old. (But not impossible).

Check that the stat probe, the end of the capillary is securely connected to the evap plate. If this is loose or not affixed correctly then it would give you the symptoms that you describe.
