The retaining spring from the front door seal has come off my Indesit wi121 washing machine.How do I refit it?

You should have tried the other door lock replacement method. 😉
A bit of fairy liquid on the seal & spring. start one side of the spring and tease it round with an implement that wont scratch the machine or hurt if you slip off and poke yourself in the eye. Goggles & gloves and a leather apron would be advisable.
Not too bad really once you’ve done a few.
