Must say I’m a little bit annoyed about the final paragraph on the Kuppersbusch article. If this speculation is founded on fact then state it but if it’s just an editorial opinion surely then it should be reserved for the rumour mill or made clear it is just an opinion . I have started to notice this type of statement occuring more so lately on a number of threads too and is making me believe that someones ego is getting a bit too large and maybe should be reigned in somewhat.

It’s worth noting that “somebody’s ego” has given us the heads up on potential problem companies on more than one occasion .

Perhaps you should read my post again as it’s about an opinion of the viability of a company employing people in a challenging economic situation. This should be reserved for the rumour mill and not on the front page of the website. Keep to facts on the front page.

I wasn’t aware that there were rules I had to follow. Perhaps I should have consulted the 60 odd thousand people that stumble upon the site every month before deciding to publish some comment based on information that I have.
Oh, silly me, that’s right, I forgot that everyone’s opinion has to be considered and that every comment has to go past the “Politically Correct Police” before it’s aired in public.
Sorry Robbra but if this post seems to smack of sarcasm that would be very deliberate on my part. I make no apology for the comment at all, it is totally justified IMO and is based on information from three plus sources and, given the state of the KBB industry right about now, the big names going to the wall and what I happen to know Teka UK has suffered in losses this year due to bad debt it’s justified.
The point being, in case you missed it, that the guys doing work for Teka UK should be aware of this and they should be watching their credit control with companies that are in the crap.
Now, you may not like that and that’s your choice but I can’t help but notice that you’re a lone voice thus far.
Me, I’d prefer to know if a company I was working for was in trouble.
And, if I published half the information that comes my way it’d be a lot more contentious than this is. But it’s kept largely in check unless you can read between the lines a lot and, even then, a lot of it never sees the light of day as confidentiality is requested or it is unverifiable. It’s not just off the cuff comment as you make out, it’s researched. I would like to think that’s what is expected.
All that said, you have the ability to make a comment on the story if you feel it is inaccurate or, if you have solid evidence to refute the comments I’m more than happy to hear them and, if proved true, I’ll gladly retract the comments with an apology if it’s appropriate.
But, TBH, I’m used to companies and people having a pop telling me that rumours or stories aren’t true, that’s life. But, I’ve not yet had one that wasn’t accurate based on the research.
MFI didn’t like what I had to say.
Servis never liked me or my comments.
GBDAR hated me with a passion.
Former NESN leaders would gladly have seen me not breathing.

There’s a host of others as well that’d love to see the back of me and UKW I’m quite sure.
But as in the beginning I do not feel compelled to offer anything other than an independent point of view and opinion and it’s not the Times here or some other media that is constrained. And, as in the beginning, much of what UKW does is to help protect the repairers and if that means making them aware of possible problems, so be it.
But if you know better, I’m all ears and so long as I can independently verify the facts presented I’ll happily publish it.
Or do you have a vested interest in the well being of Teka UK?
As for Teka UK, I can tell you that the MD changes in January, fact. I can tell you they’ve lost millions this year in bad debt, fact. I can tell you that Kuppersbusch are, like others, cutting staff levels, fact. I can tell you that Adrian Snelson is leaving, fact. I can tell you that their Scottish engineer is leaving, fact.

Ken, perhaps you have not read and understood the point of my post in which case I will explain yet again. The front page should be reserved for facts and articles, not rumour or opinion as we have trade forums for that purpose.
You may or may not be right and the fountain of all knowledge regarding the whitegoods trade but an opion is just that. Keep it in the trade section.
Well I’ve had enough of this and didn’t resort to sarcasm. I’ve made my point several times and if you don’t get it, it’s not my fault.

Hi Robbra,
I do fully understand your opinion. I do not agree with it.
I have posted articles and comments in that style for more than five years now, why is it all of a sudden a problem?
In the meantime I will continue to post articles of news, with commentary, as has been done in the past.
