ParticipantOrder up you cold fill valves now. If the weather forecast is right for this weekend it’s back to sna and freezing temps.
Those cold fill valves we fitted a wee while ago are about to go again.

Better off in our pockets than the punters, 😆 but I won’t hold my breath for the calls to come rolling in. Only had 1 pop in the last lot.

Mrs Townsend will be on her third one this winter if thats the case. First one went in December second in January.
I do find a good freeze is good for business though. All them frozen pipes lovley jubbly.
Its a bit like when it rains the Mrs says what you smiling for . I say ” They will all be putting there tumble dryers on now. Kerching” 😀February 16, 2011 at 9:35 pm #344864A1TEC

Cornflakes, that might help a little. What I see happening is the supply hose is starting to freeze as it’s external to appliance and even touching an external brick wall. More often or not I see the ridgid parts of the hose gives way first or in tandum with the valve. The flexible part of the hose can cope with a small amount of expansion. I may be wrong….
However, I have had a good amount of work removing machines from garages and shoe horning them into kitchens. All in all a very good earner that last cold spell 😀 😀 😀 😀
I did run out of valves and had to do a certain amount of re-use of second hand/old parts (with the agreement of customers). I also nearly ran out of hoses at one stage until I re-stocked.

how will THAT get you any repeat business, apart from anyhting else is well in addition to manufacturers orginal specs 🙂
but seriously, its not worth it, its little gain, if the customer cannot be fuzzckled to turn their taps off in the garage/shed once theyve finished using it, let them pay, im had my fill of stupid/ignorant/iknowbetterthanyou people to last my lifetime…
