    • Model RL39 WBSW
    • Serial 848341AX700091B, Model Code RL39WSBWI/XEU


    Fridge Freezer stopped working, food had started to defrost. Power was still on but no humming from compressor.

    On switching power off and on again the unit started working again and got up to temprature freezing the food. However the following morning the unit had stopped working again.

    I tried defrosting the unit but the same thing happend again.

    I have replaced the Freezer Thermostat and Defrost Thermostat but there is still no change?

    Notes, Both sides of the unit get hot to the touch when freezer is switched off and on again to get to temprature. The freezer evaporator freezes up when on. Fan works fine. If i change the temprature on the controls the compessor starts up again?

    Anybody got any ideas please?

    Hi

    Most likely cause is the defrost heater and or thermal fuse.

    Is the thermal fuse easy to find please?

    Im guessing the defrost heater is behind the evaporator?

    Hi

    yes the evaporator and is behind the panel. And the heater is on the evaperator and the thermal fuse is also attached to the evaperator

    Is the evaporator conected via a flexible pipe alowing for it to be moved? Thanks for your help Bryan.

    No it doesnt fit, is it not possible to get the heater without purchasing the whole Evaporator Assembly?
