Customer says not taking fabric conditioner otherwise machine working ok.
Is this a fault that has occured before ❓

Do’es one side of the double valve go directly to the f/c compartment ❓

If I have to fit a new double valve will a normal hotpoint one fit ❓

Seem to remember having this problem years ago with the old servis quartz. Enlarging the hole in the valve restrictor cured it.

    Any comments guys ❓

If you refer to an ISE CI555WH then no! It uses the dual fill ‘cross-over’ system to operate the middle fabric cond section (2 valves on at the same time that is)

Again if it’s a CI555WH then no it wont. The valve is a plastic ‘slide and latch’ fit with no metal screw-on bracket used. Therefore best to fit the exact replacement eh? 😉

    Hi Martin,

Are you saying this part of the valve is energized only when f/c is required ❓

Or is there a plastic deflector directing water onto f/c when required

    Thanks

    Yes!

But you must first understand that the machine (OK so I guess we are talking the CI555WH 😉 ) operates the 3 channels using a combination of just 2 solenoids. One for the left channel, the other for the right and BOTH energised during the fabric conditioner phase.

The flow of both during the fab. cond phase merges the water down the central pipe to the the conditioner tray….OK?

Therefore if the water pressure is very poor then that merging flow of water can cause a poor delivery to the fabric conditioner section. Likely as not the best cure in a case like this is not to increase the size of the restrictor hole, but simply remove the restrictor altogether! 😉

    Martin.

    Yes CI555WH

I think there are two filters in the cold supply line. 1 in the hose and 1 in the valve.

I’ii ask the customer to take one out and try it before making a trip into the countryside. Might help.

    Thanks

Removing filters is not the way forward here to be honest, unless the water supply line is full of debris that is. And then only to clean them and put back.

I was referring not to the filters BUT the actual flow restrictor in the valve behind the filter and best to leave the filters in situ. 😉
