ParticipantBeen to look at one of these General Electric BF50 integrated dishwasher, pain in the ass to get out as floor covering came out with appliance, kitchen was built in around machine & i had to dismantle back of drawer unit to get at taps & take off hoses to let machine out.
Temperature cut-out had popped, customer said appliance had not finished cycle on a few occasions, (not normal noise off it).
I reset cut-out, also found that appliance was plumbed to hot water, advised customer that its reccomended to plumb them to cold as hot water tends to coagulate (where did i hear that) proteins in food & give bad wash results.
Anyhows low & behold machine takes in water goes through cycle, empties, fills again heats etc, empties again finishes.
Get a call a week later same problem, machine finished cycle, dishes not washed, tablet in base of machine. Machine is in rented accommadation & had laid unused for quite a while.Suspecting dodgy circulation pump motor, but i see they are priced @ £220 or £150 trade (which still is dear). Anyone have this problem with this machine. They are same as Hotpoint & GDA i think.

Not had any circulation pump problems on the Hotpoint version of this, not had many calls to them, only real problems have been door leaks and mouse damage to the seal on the water direction valve seal, the GDA BF50 circ pump is listed on Partfinder as £96.90 ex vat.

It’s made by Brandt Seamy and yes, the circulation motor sounds suspect unless there has been an overfoaming problem causing the pressure switch to react oddly.
Even from Brandt they are over £100 for the circ motor 🙁

If it’s on hot fill, it could be scalding hot water early in the morning. Perhaps an AGA? It trips the overtemp stat caused by the incoming water being too hot. By the time you get there the water is not so hot.
This caught me out on the same machine many years ago.

Cheers guys, Bob i’ve put it on Cold Fill now & its still knocking out on over temp cut-out, customer says that sometimes it doesn’t sound as its washing when its on, (she says she hears it filling o.k but then not washing) so i suspected a circulation pump not always starting..
