ParticipantHi,
I have a GE front loading washing machine model WWH7504TWW. I think it is the same or made by Hotpoint. I am trying to replace the worn out stainless inner drum. Can anyone offer tips on how to do this?? I cannot figure out how to gain access to remove the drum. The floor , side and back walls are all spotwelded.
Thanks From,

I think you may be under a misapprehension over it being like a UK Hotpoint model although the UK made WM22P does have a stainless inner drum and a plastic outer drum. Usually the bearings go south and a new drum spigot and bearings kit is needed to sort. (All removed from the front by the way! 😉 )

Are you from Oz Henry, if so we could move this post to the Aussie forum, someone there may recognise your model number.

Well wouldn’t you know it is a WM22P after all!
In that case changing the inner drum is something we are well experienced in after all. Tell me Henry, why are you changing the inner drum (Part No 1666111) anyway? Have you got the Drum Spigot/Bearings Kit (Part No 1611166) as well I wonder?

Its a pity they stripped all the GE machine references from Partfinder.
I couldn’t view the initial pictures, even though I turned down the cookie & pop up blockers.
I can now see something that I, like Martin, am very familiar with. 😉
I just happen to have a spare inner drum plus all the other bits in my garage, don’t suppose there is a chance of an expenses paid service call, 8)Jim.

Hi,
Thanks for the prompt replies! I am very happy that at least now I know what this machines “true” identity is.
I have a new inner stainless and also the outer plastic drum. The outer drum has a bearing molded in.
I am changing the inner drum as it has worn through!! I have never seen this happen on any other machine. I have been using it for 9 years though….with very heavy use. Holes started developing in the stainless drum and then ripping clothes so I have to replace it.
Are there any step by step instructions on how to take the front off he machine and then remove the drum?
Are any Hotpoint service manuals available for this machine?
Thanks From,

No manuals available Henry, your on your own there, just remove the front panel and the rest is obvious. 😉
Good luck! 🙂
