ParticipantI had my dishwasher diagnosed with a faulty PCB by a technician, he said wasn’t worth repairing due to the age of the machine (4yrs) and the cost of repair (£130).
I decided to find the part myself which I have done, and now please can you advise me if there is anything else I need to know before connecting the PCB into the machine. I know nothing about dishwashers or electronics in general, however the old PCB seemed to unplug very easily from the machine. Of course I took photos of how the cables attach to the PCB, and have isolated the electrical supply.
Is it just plug & play, or do I need to do anything else?
Thanks!August 13, 2010 at 3:50 pm #327791iadom

If it has come directly from Indesit then it should have fitting instructions in the box.
It is a plug and ‘pray’ PCB though.
What was the initial fault?

Plug & pray 😮 I have my bible out!
Upon having opened the box I have found some instructions about how to initialise the card and run the test cycle – thanks.
I was really asking if there is any “schoolboy error” type mistakes I could make, which may be obvious to you experts, but which a newb like me (who has never even seen the inside of a dishwasher before now) might succumb to – I don’t fancy destroying this new PCB as it cost me £70!The initial fault was no heat on any cycle. The guy who diagnosed it tested the heating element I think, which was ok, so concluded the PCB was to blame. I hope he’s right!

Both the heater and PCB are very common causes of a no heat fault.
Just take care with the inner door edges, rather sharp. 😉August 13, 2010 at 4:55 pm #327794setspeed
