    Thanks for reading…

I am about to purchase a nearly new fridge freezer from someone who’s just had a new kitchen, but to get the appliance from A to B the item will have to be transported on its side. Now, will that have a detrimental effect on the subsequent performance of the appliance and will any lasting damage be caused? Assuming I haven’t caused any problems, how long will I have to leave the appliance to settle down before I can use it?

    Thanks in advance.

Leave it at least 24 hours if it’s on its side. But ideally you want to transport them upright and still allow a few hours for the compressor oil to settle.

    K.
