KeymasterAs we’re getting asked about this all the time I’m going to keep all the information here in one thread for ease but use links that you can follow to find out more and get on the search.
If You’re On The Search Already
If you see your company listed on the search then your details have been entered at some stage. How complete or accurate they are is entirely dependent on what information you gave us when it was done or if the details have been imported from our database of engineers.
If you haven’t updated your details then they will be what they were, we haven’t done it for you unless you asked.
So, all the new product categories, all the new brands that have been added will NOT be automatically added for you. You have to login and do that yourself.
You can read more on how to do that here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=66525&start=45#p328854
If you haven’t claimed your listing and gotten your forum account linked to the engineer account, you won’t be able to access this. You have to ask as we need to do that manually for each account.
If You Are Not Listed
If you’re not on the search or just bamboozled by it all then read this first…
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/abou … earch.html
A lot of things I get are simply a case of RTFM, so please understand what the search is, what it does and how you can make it work for you best.
After that you need to apply, give us all the details needed to get you on there and agree to the terms which aren’t exactly onerous.
You can do that online here: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/abou … ation.html
Once you tick all the boxes and give us what’s needed to get you listed then we can set you up on there and link your forum account to allow you to alter your details.
Future Enhancements
There is more work to be done on the module and more features will be added in time.
The first of which will be the certificates function which I posted about the other day here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=67240
The information displayed will change soon to make it easier for consumers as, that’s the target audience for the search, to make it easier for people to use and understand.
We may introduce the ability to display authorised service on each brand but we’re not sure about that yet. Managing it could be a bit of a stretch for us as we’d have to verify the authorised statuses which would be a pain.
We also may introduce the ability to embed the search on your own site if you have a call for it but that’s entirely dependent on the demand.
If there’s anything else you need to know just ask.

Would it be possible to edit the sub heading on THIS PAGE?
Above the UK map it reads “Find My Engineer” and wouldn’t I be right in thinking someone else shares a similar name? I think FIND AN ENGINEER is more grammatically correct anyway. 😀
