Used to have fun years ago doing repairs to the Bendix outer tub, most folk wouldn’t touch em but we did, that had to come out of the top as well and it was bloody heavy and a sod to strip but good money Ah the good old days! I’ll keep away from that model

I reckon Ariston/indesits also make the grade as un-friendly.
There are just too many razor sharp edges and corners to the whole appliance, poor build quality?

My one and only Hoover drum change experience was on an AB110-001 in January 2003. In my case it was located in a mobile home (caravan thingy) with a kitchen that had just enough extra floor space for my toolbox.
Took me 2 hours or more and all the while I was muttering NEVER AGAIN! NEVER AGAIN!

KeymasterJust the design philosophy at work.
Cheap to build on an assembly line does not mean easy to disassemble in the field. Sadly very few manufacturers take account of the fact that we often have to service and appliance in a kitchen that has an area of free space area akin to a postage stamp. 🙁

Talking of sharp edges. Just been given a WM63 by a customer who has her arm bandaged up to the elbow. She tried to change the belt and after the injury decided to buy another machine. 😯
