Its official the paper directory has gone.
Its been on the cards for years, a tough decade for them, another victim of the internet!

Don’t put your cheque book away yet – there’s another 104 books to be issued next year! Expect those well-paid reps (Do they still drive round in their Audi A3s canvassing for business?) to try to persuade you to part with your cash to appear in the last ever issue – imagine the benefit of your advert remaining on that old dear’s shelf for the next 10 – 20 years, all for a one-off fee! Though with all of one wash cycle a fortnight, don’t hold your breath for the next call out.

Ha, yes those reps really were incredibly persistent telephone pests, they’ve left me voice messages for me for the last seven years, never returned any of their calls.
In recent years I actually thought their persistence was quite admirable or mabe just very desperate.

It gave me an enormous sense of contributing toward recycling by taking it straight from the doormat, ripping off the cellophane and popping into the recycling bin by the back door 🙁

Our transformation means we will be delivering the final editions of Yellow Pages, starting with the Kingston book in 2018 and ending with Brighton in 2019. These final editions are likely to be retained by households for years to come, so advertisers will benefit from this extended shelf life.
Of course, the reason Yellow Pages is nearing its final print run is that consumers are increasingly turning to digital. That is why we are investing online, and in particular enhancing Yell.com, the UK’s No.1 online business directory[2].
So if you want your business to be part of the final Yellow Pages or are looking to further boost your online profile, call us today on [0800 777 445]0800 777 445.
Best regards,
Richard Hanscott

A far greater loss in this area is the demise of the Oldham Chronicle after over 160 years in print. 🙁
