KeymasterHas anybody on this forum per chance had a look inside one of these Gorenje washing macines which have recently started to be imported to the UK. I wash just wondering whether their build quality is as good as the dealer down the road says it is.

Hi Gazdoubleu
We were one of the first retailers to stock these when they arrived in the UK almost two years ago.
We were looking for a brand which offered value for money but at the same time was reasonable by way of construction and back up etc.
The guarantee of two years is also testament to the product. Any repairs are carried out by Bosch service.
The fabric of appliance seems good compared to others on the market.
We are also stockists of their Pininfarina range of appliances which have been designed by the same guy who amongst other things has designed the Ferrari cars. This is a premium range at the top end of the market.
Hope this helps your decision making you could look at their web site

They are all pretty solidly constructed, the w162 particularly so and the driers are great, if a bit noisy. The lower priced machines have a bit of a tacky feel to the console and the mains on neon is like something I remember using in schoolboy electronics projects in the 70’s.
The thing to remember is that there are a lot of Gorenje stuff out there with differrent names on especially ovens and fridges, so its not like they are new to the trade here.
As for spares and service back up, i have not yet had to order anything but as parts are supplied by BSH appliance care, it should be pretty good, the down side is that they also have the warranty service work wrapped up so we will see little work until the 2 year warranty (on most products) is up.
But a 1200 spin at around £210 with stainless steel tub cannot be bad.January 13, 2004 at 10:48 pm #108474admin

Thank you for your candid answers to my questions. Guess I’d better look at these Pininfarina machines as well. Just hope the engineering is not Italian as a Fiat Miafiori put me off Italian engineering for life.
