Gorenje D8565NO tumble dryer door won’t close

We have a Gorenje D8565NO which has gone from not always wanting to close to now refusing to close. If you push the door shut, it just pops out again.

I’ve taken the latch/switch part out and I can’t see anything obviously broken. When taken out, if I offer it up to the catch on the door, it will click into place and hold on (though not strongly).

I wondered if it could be a door alignment issue so loosened the screws enough to give the door some freedom, but it will not close in any position.

Any suggestions on what the issue could be or what to try next?

Anyone any ideas? Worth ordering another door catch and seeing if that fixes it…?

with the door lock out, if you close the door, does it look like its fully shut ?

No, it won’t stay shut, without the lock in place there it swings open naturally.

But I bought a new catch and it now works fine.
