Grill Element for AEG Competence B4100-1 (only outer working

As mentioned above only the outer part of the element is heating up, with no heat from the inner part.
I appreciate that whole element has to be replaced, but could something else be causing the problem?
If not am I correct in thinking that this is the part number:
8996619265334.

My Models is Competence B4100-1-M
PNC 944 181 739

Also having had a Cooling Fan Control replaced last year by Serviceforce at a ridiculous cost (the engineer showed me how to do it myself in case it went again and advised me of the price I should expect to pay for the part, a huge difference as found on your site!) I thought I’d repair it myself.
I repair and service pc’s so I’m reasonably handy, is it fairly straight forward to fit?

Element is the most likely culprit – you need a test meter to check for resistance through the element to prove it.

Part number for the element is correct – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get one for you promptly.

Power off before opening it up.

899661 92 65-33 / 4 is indeed the correct part number.
