Grit left on glasses

Please can someone give me some advice on my WHIRLPOOL dishwasher.

I have two problems; the first is that I have a grit substance left on the glasses after its finished. I have cleaned the filter and the swingarms and have run it empty to wash it through but I cannot get rid of this grit stuff! What it is it and how can I combat it?

Secondly I have a problem with my salt….maybe linked with the first prob?…….There is a green indicator on the salt filler, as far as I can remember this means it needs filling – problem is, I can’t under the filler cap? Any ideas on how to get it off?

Could you let us know the model number please 😀

We should then be able to advise on the salt refil procedure which may well be causing the gtitty problem, especially if you are in a hard water area.
