Grundig – fridge – disable led

Hi, I have a new Grundig Fridge Freezer and want to disable the led light in the fridge. Model GKF15810N. How do I do this?

only by finding connections and disconnecting them

if you do it in the fridge you have to make sure no moisture can get into the open wires
if you do it at the pcb looks like you would have to cut a wire as they use multi connections

its not easy but why do you want to do this ?

thanks! the fridge is in a bedroom and it disturbs my partner when I open it! what happens if I tape over the button which releases when I open the door? Would that be an easy solution? It looks like the leds are part of the thermostat is that possible? I can disconnect the board with the lights on it but I think that board does more than just the lights

Just for you to be aware: If this is a NEW fridge, as soon as you start removing parts or disconnecting wiring your going to invalidate the guarantee.

Thanks for the tip. So does anyone know how to do this properly? Any help would be appreciated. Doesn’t make sense that you have to have the light come on. Thanks in advance.

using tape the button should not be a problem as you are not opening any panels to do it

you could also cover or paint over the lamp inside to reduce its brilliance but once you open something and alter it you may have no guarantee

Ok. Will try that. Was worried that taping the push button on the door might interfere with the fan and cooling system. Cheers.

it might that’s the problem

sometimes they use the switch to turn the fan off with the door open. if that is the case you will have to cover the lamp in some way
