Grundig Gkn16820w E4 error code

Hello,
Have a problem with my Grundig16820w, wondering if someone can help.

Every few months ice builds at the rear of freezer, and I get e4 on the display.

what could this problem be?
problem with heater? Temperature sensor?

E4 is just listed as defrost heater error

you would need to check heater continuity first

is it evaporator heater or defrost heater. And what’s the difference.

i think its part no 5719650100

you need to find it, disconnect it and measure it with a multimeter to see if its blown

the temperature sensor reads 10.2 k-ohms where as the heater reads just 495 ohms.

I pre-ordered (before measuring) the heater thinking that the problem was with the heater, but new heater similarly reads 508 ohms

Is it safe to say the sensor is faulty and needs replacing?

After watching some more videos, came to find out that resistance reading is not static and depends on temperature. So my old thermo resistance does seem to increase to 20k when submerged in ice. Does it still mean it’s faulty and should replace?

temp sensor looks like its rated 10K ohm at 25 degrees C
