grundig GTN38250HGCW weird fault

Loverly heat pump dryer, the customer hasn’t registered the 5 yr guarantee [IMG2=JSON]{“data-align”:”none”,”data-size”:”full”,”src”:”https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forums/core/core/images/smilies/icon_neutral.gif”}[/IMG2] and has a good fault after 3 years.
Switched on and it worked fine on first test, second time counts down but totally silent, doing nowt. Customer reports that it’s been like this for a few months and if he leaves it it will start up after about 20/30 mins but it takes ages to dry ( really ??[IMG2=JSON]{“data-align”:”none”,”data-size”:”full”,”src”:”https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forums/core/core/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif”}[/IMG2])

Opening and closing the door registers but the lamp doesn’t come on in the drum.

Any ideas on this because I don’t normally touch the heat pump stuff.
