Zappaking
ParticipantYeah. Usually it runs for a few seconds, stops but the timer runs down, then randomly starts again after 5-15 minutes.

ParticipantOurs is exactly the same, just outside its 5 year warranty…. Was there a final diagnosis on what it was??

ParticipantHi everyone
our tumble dryer has now done exactly the same thing!
just outside of the five year warranty. So frustrating. Has anyone had any luck with this before we simply buy another tumble dryer (won’t be a grundig one!)many thanks

ParticipantThe exact same issue as previously posted here before
dryer stops drying but timer continues to count down. Sometimes it starts working again when disconnected from mains. Mostly not. Doesn’t matter which programme. Door sensor is working
model number is GTN39250CGCW

Moderatordifficult to say what it could be
model no you quote seems to be wrong as i get GTN39250GCW
but there seems to be 2 versions depending on commecial code wich is either 7188289890 or 7188283060
when it stops does it goes completely silent or is there still some noise ?if it still makes some noise its poss motor if not it does sound like the board.. If its been plugged on for 5 years you might find domed capacitors on the board which may well cause this

ParticipantMy apologies. The model number you typed is correct. And it’s 7188289890
the dryer goes completely silent and timer continues to tick down. If it’s the capacitors on the board, how do I go about fixing?
your help is much appreciated! So frustrating. If it’s not fixable we will have to buy another soon

Moderatorhttps://www.robotroom.com/Faulty-Capacitors-1.html
if you find any then you get the correct value ( uF and voltage) and solder in new ones taking great care to solder them in the correct way round as they are polarity concious

ParticipantThanks so much for this
im not very handy at this sort of stuff but will have a look at the board and see if I can figure out if the capacitors are gone
Thanks again

ParticipantHi all. I have the same problem. This happened twice. Last time I plug off the dryer for one day. While off I pressed most of the buttones. I cleaned and the sensor located on lower part under the filter. Next day I plug on the dryer and used 5 times since with no problem. Not sure if is just luck …. Just give a try.

ParticipantI encountered the same issue. The dryer stops working after running for a while, but the screen and program timer continue to function normally. This problem seems to occur randomly—sometimes I can run the drying program for an hour, and other times I can complete the whole cycle, but sometimes it won’t start at all.
What I can say for sure is that when the problem occurs, the light inside the drum is not working (under normal circumstances, the light inside the drum should turn on when you open the door after the dryer is powered on. If the light is not on, it definitely indicates a malfunction). Maybe we can find a breakthrough here?
I’ve already disassembled the dryer and tested some components with a multimeter. I can confirm that the thermal sensor is fine, and the capacitor is also working properly.
Has anyone managed to fix this issue? If so, could you share where the problem lies?

ParticipantHi all. Just thought I’d join and tag on my experience. I’ve had the same problem that has been talked about on here. From what I can tell, I’ve managed to fix the problem but cause another. The original fault was that it was stopping with no reason or indication. As far as the panel was concerned, it was drying but nothing was turning. Unplug it for a period and it would spring to life. As others have said, it sounded like a an over heating issue. Considering the mains was going straight to a PCB as the first port of call, I suspected that would be a good place to start. It’s never easy to see bad solder joints so I just removed and resoldered what I considered doable on the board. Put it all back together and something had changed. The week before, I had taken a short look and found that I could run the machine as long as the sides were on. This time, I tried to run it with the top panel off and it would start and then instantly stop, going into Pause mode. I thought my gamble hadn’t paid off and it was now time to buy another one. But I then found that when I put the top on, away it went. It did a 2 hour cycle, merrily. Happy days.
Since then though, the M-in-L (it’s not my machine), reported that it went back into Pause the next day. I told her to whack it and off it went again. Seems to me that I may have fixed the original problem but at the same time caused another! I can’t see anything obvious as far as an intrusion sensor goes. Does anyone know how Grundig or Beko do this?? Is there a light sensor? It’s frustrating. -
