Guess when and who?

Try to figure a time when the majority of the public only use the Internet in order to run their daily lives?

Internet banking, shopping, holidays, travel arrangements, bill paying, amenity services, emergency services, health and even booking a time slot for your own funeral can all be done on the keyboard and by a click of a mouse button…..?

Here in the UK the advent of “broadband to every home!” will soon be in place. Many will profit big time from all this but I fear far more will suffer as a result. Who and what will be the first to go?

Loaded questions from me from me for sure, so try guessing when it will happen and who will suffer? 😉

Well Martin, if we’re talking about our trade then i do often wonder if there is much of a future for the big ‘bricks & mortar’ outfits like Currys & Comet, people often use the places like a library, noting what model they like the feel of & then trying to get it at a better price online.

It aint cricket to be sure but these stores had no qualms driving thousands of indy small retailers to the wall over the last few decades.. so let ’em take it IMO 👿

but people will always want to see it in the flesh and fiddle with the knobs and buttons even if they dont want to buy it from there, so there will always be a market for a showroom wether its an independant or a national chain.
