ParticipantMy daughter recently bought a 2nd hand GW609 which stopped working during a wash cycle – no display at all when power switched on to it. Upon investigation of the control board I discovered both T4 fuses blown, 2x HVDC diodes blown in the rectifier bridge and diode D541 blown elseware. One of the IGBT’s on the track side of the board is short between the collector and the emitter. The fuses and diodes are no problem to source and replace but is it worth trying to replace the IGBT? I don’t know what caused the failure. The motor tests out at 31 ohms across all three windings and the pump tests out at about 32 ohms. Is it possible/common for the control board to fail for no reason? What tests can I perform of other hardware to confirm their condition? Your advice would be appreciated – thanks.
Where can I get a reference of error codes and their causes, for this machine and a GW503?May 28, 2008 at 10:42 pm #253089Penguin45

Things to make motor controllers explode :-
Leaky pumps, dodgy/chaffed wiring (especially around the motor), wet lid switch wiring, wet OOB switch wiring, short circuit valves, old tired components on pcbs, worn bearings causing the motor to stiffen up….
Check everything.
I have a full list of error codes, which I cannot publish as the information is copyright to F+P. I can however answer your specific fault code requests. Bear in mind that the great majority of common fault codes are repeatedly answered throughout the forum.

It is not uncommon to find the controller has self destructed with no outside influence. Moreso on the later model machines starting with your model. Maybe “cheap” components.

The #426520X has a retail price of NZ$110.60. + GST Should be available from any F&P service centre. Don’t think you’ll do any better that that.
