Hi I have an LG GWL227HBQA American style fridge freezer. It has developed a fault which means that when it is plugged into mains it works for about 30/60 secs and then RCB trips. The fault can be traced to the Freezer door. There are three different cable looms and the earthing link, two of the looms are the thinner control cables and they are fine. When the thicker power cable block is disconnected the unit does not trip.
The power cables to the dispenser and the ice maker all test fine, but there is a single black cable that I can’t find connected to any of the door components. I have disconnected this cable, reconnected the power block and the unit does not trip, restore the black cable and it trips.
With the black cable disconnected everything works as expected.
What is this single black cable linked to in the Freezer door?
I have looked for a replacement door but the part is now obsolete. The only problem is whatever is on the end of this door cable.
Is this cable needed?
Many thanks
