What an absolute bag of nails these machines are!

After less than 16 months the door boot is failing to seat correctly against the door glass, so it’s leaking onto her laminate flooring almost every wash.

There are no signs of misuse or other damage to the door seal – it just seems to be unsubstantial enough to last the pace!

QUESTION: I would expect more than 16 months from this – what is the general feeling out there about life expectancy of a door seal?

(I know – she needs to find the nearest skip and throw her machine into it before it gives her any more problems. She already has it occasionally making big banging sounds as an item of washing gets caught and throws the drum out!)

There were a big problem with these seals – saw stacks and stacks of them that had been returned under warranty where the door seal was twisted around at the front.

If the old seal is okay you could try taking it off and putting it back on again to reseat it, has worked a couple of times for me. Otherwise new seal time or just tell them to get a new one, design fault so even if you tighten retainers as much as possible it will still keep happening 😕

She had a good moan to Argos, where she got it from, and they’ve given her a replacement machine (not a Haier, I’m glad to say!).

    Well done to her!!
