The reason the haiers are getting written off is down to poor supply of spares not due to the inability to fix them and yes they do have a high failure rate. Generally they require board and motor, so maybe cheaper to replace than repair ???
After the stuff they turn out you would have thought if indesit cannot get them to be of a quaility that is worth selling then why try ???

ahem (works for comet)ask the questions, youll get the answers
Put a blue sticker on it, that’ll sort it out :rotfl:
as usual, a balanced and open conversation involving all sectors 😯
when are you gonna get it? i ve said it before and ill say it again… i know what you think of comet engineers, and thats fine
of course im sure theres nothing you struggle with at all, and you write nothing off?
honestly, i do wonder why i bother
I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cause any offence, it was NOT meant as a personal ‘Dig’ but only as a light hearted joke.
There are good and bad in all sectors of the trade but i’m not sitting here to poke fun at anyone, ultimatly we all strive for the same goal.
I work with at least 3 ex Comet engineers and they are damn good engineers who I have the upmost respect for. There is NO shame in working for Comet.
Again sorry for any offence caused.

Participantive never fitted a pcb yet
bearings are going down left, right and center
yes, ive had the fire!! and the motors really are bobbins, fit loads of em, brushes usually last at best 1 wash
and of course, theres a slow boat from china appears once a month, and thats to supply the whole of the country, so its not exactly helpful
i still think comet will stop selling them.. someone, somewhere will die, im sure of that

If I can stick my twopennarth in here. When I first started perusing this site I was quick to lock horns with Helo and a couple of others mainly over issues between my company and everyone else and it clouded my judgement off the indie/comet engineers however it has grown to be an imense respect for the work they put in to fix the bloody unfixable without the backup that Indesit offer.(not that its worth much).
As has been pointed out we ARE all on the same side and points scoring is very detrimental to the forum.May 1, 2008 at 9:19 am #247144Micky 32
ParticipantMy local nursing home has a toploader one. On average i’m getting called every few weeks to it. The build quality is rubbish.

If its a domestic machine in a comercial setting then the customer is bound to get problems.I get a bit sick of going to business premises ie care home 12 residents and them having a go cos the washer is knackered after 6 weeks.

A lot of small hotels around here use cheapo domestic machines, the ones on the first page of comets website if you know what i mean. :rolls:
Half the guarantee time compared to domestic punters is what they get, still not sure its worth the hassle, never get paid on the day of visit :rolls: :rolls:
