Handepay Merchant Services

We have been approached by this Merchant Company who offer merchant services, currently with Barclays Merchant services and although they have never been a problem Handepay are a Merchant Servuces company who use Streamline to process transactions and they are cheaper than our current supplier.

Has any used this company or are using them and if so what has your experience been ? Any info much appreciated ! 🙂

The Terminal Rental is about 3.00 PM cheaper, and the rates quoted were

1.6{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Credit Cards
and .17p Debit Cards

Do these other people charge transaction fees per transaction ? and what are the rates for Company Credit Cards, Refunds ?

You first have to realise that it is ‘open season’ on merchant services these days. Much like power companies plying for cheaper rates and tempting you to switch providers.

All these guys are interested in is your MONTHLY TURNOVER. If you’re transacting £1,000’s per month (i.e 10 grand or more) then each credit/debit card transaction is rated in pennies, literally. 12 to 15p per debit card and 1.65{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} or less per credit card not untypical.

If you’re in the money then you can call the tune and dictate to them what you’re prepaired to accept as your rate. If you are just transacting a few hundred quid here and a grand or two there it’s a different story. They either won’t be interested in your business or might offer similar terms. Therefore switching providers is NOT an option for you, better the devil you know and all that. 😈

By the way, I’ve never heard of Handepay Merchant Services but then next week another one will pop up I’m sure. 😉

i agree had a spate of them last year in quick succession but in my case would need 2 terminals one of them mobile. With a free cash machine up the road from the shop cant justify the outlay per month as i dont think it will bring anymore business to pay for it

Having worked over my merchant statements over a 12 month period based on them I would be saving on average of fifty pound per month Approx £ 600.00 per annum, now in this day and age any saving is a bonus so as far as I can see whilst Martin is a man of wisdom I cannot see how I can loose by changing providers,

Hi, we have been signed up with handepay for over a year now on a mobile terminal, i have been very happy with it, no problems & good support. Costs for us with terminal rental & transaction fees are roughly about £50 a month, its cheaper for a static terminal though.

No problem, i was the same as you not sure if to change and go with them, pleased i did they are quite competetive and anything is better than having rubber cheques !

Well after nearly two months of being with Handipay we are making savings which our previous provider could not match, now i am considering moving banks to pretty much free banking with interest being paid on credit balances which will save me shedloads, it pays to look at your banking and merchant services from time to time as like me i found myself to be too busy or have the bother of changing which of course a lot of these institutions rely upon .
