I know its the school holidays but its like someone turned the tap off! had a couple of jobs from the local estate agents, but yesterday and today, well I’ve even rang myself to test the line I’ve got the best polished van in the street , all my book are in order and the grass is freshly cut. basically I’m bored. where have all the customers gone?

I’m sure a lot of them have gone on previously booked holidays which they probably cant afford, They’ll be back with case loads of dirty laundry and a dead washer. Must admit though its going to be a long 4 or five weeks ahead till things pick up.

The job has been a bit quiet here in Lincs for a couple of weeks. I always find it a bit quiet when the kids are off school for the summer. My theory is that the mothers let the kids play in the same clothes for six weeks. I say enjoy it while you can, it will soon be back to busy busy busy…

They are all still at home round here, as busy as ever, did 7 calls Saturday morning, have 10 in tomorrow, several in for Tuesday including a WMA drum change.
There will be a few long faces after Friday when I am off for two weeks. 8)

This is well out of order Jim…….not like you leaving your minions to fend for themselves whilst your doing the Titantic arm waving bit with your missus for a fortnight?????…shame, shame, shame on you!!!!

I wouldn’t dream of leaving my customers for a day let alone a fortnight 😉

anyone started to get busy yet, now school hoildays over,we are dead mite have to lay off engineer and find employment else where,if werent for my other business to keep me going.

Its been a patchy year, no mistake. Strange thing is, in the recession of the ’90s i was very busy, with people hanging on to their machines & getting them repaired.
So if they are now replacing a problem appliance rather than repairing, why are the sheds moaning sales are down around 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}? A washer , cooker or a fridge are an absolute necessity & we all know they are certainly going wrong just as much as they ever have… all very confusing 😯

No sign of any downturn here at all, if anything it`s got busier over the last couple of months.
All three fronts have got busier. Sales (white and brown), spares and repairs.
Long may it continue 😀 .

“patchy” is the word one day I’ll sit waiting for anything to come in then it will be a sudden burst of activity. what I am finding very much at the moment is people ringing round for prices and do I do free call out?something I hav’nt been asked in a long time.
I’ve done a job today that was booked lask week in order to allow the customer to get some money together (£50) I’ve just looked at a Zanussi (quick look no charge nearby) wants bearings and possibly spider they definantly want it doing but wont have the money untill the end of the month so thats on hold. put a belt on a lux 1200 for a landlord thah has 8 properties and was moaning that her rental income was’nt meeting her mortgage payments and now rues the day she got into buy to let. took a bra wire out of a candy for a groundworker thats just been laid off for the first time in his life
things here are starting to look very tightwilf
