ParticipantThe ‘Joe’ in question lives in a big 5 bed newish house, double garage , all mod cons, Audi A6 for him, BMW 3 series for her. Built his empire via the Internet, lives and breathes via his laptop (permanently on-line wherever he wanders). :rolls:
His Zanussi ZWF1440W packs in over the weekend and he looks on the Internet for answers what to do? He wanted to know what ‘E20’ meant and soon found out that it was a pump/draining fault….clever boy!!!!! 😀
What happens next we can scarcely imagine but the up-shot of it was that at 9 am this morn, I get a call asking for help? I call by to find that the clever so-and-so has sorted the blocked pump ( plastic hair slide caught in it!) but in doing so he laid the machine on its right hand side….. 😯
I get there to find the power still connected, it’s stood in the middle of the room with display going AWOL with odd dots and dashes? I unplug the machine and find (yes you’ve guessed it already!) that the Module box is swimming in a lovely mix of water and fabric conditioner. Smells very nice I must say but the relays are in the deep end and can’t swim! 🙁
So the moral of this tale is :-
If you live your life via the Internet then that’s fine, but it could mean an early death for your washing machine? 😆

When taking call I always ask where they saw the advert. It always starts a bout of depression when they say I got your advert off the Internet and its a such and such fault. Then tell me what I need and ‘I priced up the part and ………’
‘Let me stop you there sir!

I thought you meant at first that he was working on the washing machine with it plugged in and laid down until I re read it and realised it was only plugged in when you arrived. Nevertheless I’ll pass the example and warning on to my users.
