ParticipantHi,
I have a
Whirlpool ADG 994 AV
TYPE: NGLM
Service Code 8542 994 15420 33 9950 017636The problems are :-
1. The machine does not heat up
2. It stops just before the end the cycle.
This is the sequence of events
You select a programme and hit the start button and the nachine fills and goes through the cycle. Right at the end of the cycle (it sounds like the machine is draining at that point) it stops. The led starts to flash. If you leave it, it will just forever. If you hold the start button down for about 5 seocnds the machine restarts, and 30 seconds later the cycle is ended and you are ready start again.
At no point does it warm up. Cold water goes in, and it stays cold. This mean the wash is not very good.
Do I have two problems orjust one?
I would love some advice from better brains than mine! Thanks ahead to anyone who knows thesolution to this.
Regards

the led flashing indicates a fault if you watch the flashing light closely it should be flashing for a number of times then a pause before it flashes again ie. flash 5 times pause flash 5 times pause etc,
its a bit tricky counting the number of flashes but it can be important for fault detection.April 12, 2007 at 11:45 pm #210496robwash

this machine is too old for fault diagnosis. it may be an ntc or reed contact problem

Hi Rob,
I think you are right. There is no gap in the flashes. it just goes on and on flashing without any pauses.
If it is an ntc ( what is an ntc by the way?) or a reed contact problem what is my next step?
If it helps at all I have the Haynes Dishwasher Manual to refer to (but the index has nothing about ntcs or reeds)

This is a standard Dolphin range machine from Whirlpool and does indeed have fault code diagnostics built into it.
The continuous flashing indicates a problem with the NTC.DP

Hi. I am a whirpool engineer and the serial number means it was made in the 50th week of 1999. it has fault diagnosis but it will flash the same for every fault. it may well be an ntc but it could also be any fault. cheers rob

My apologies Rob, you’re right. I’m ex whirlpool and time away has made it easy to forget. 😆

thats ok. i put my sams unit in these all the time and i never know what ones have got it and what ones don’t. i think the individual fault diagnosis came out in about 2001 sometime. probably a heating problem anyway. or a control board, or a membrane switch, drying problem or a leak lol who knows???? cheers rob 😀
