This guy just left me a voicemail, as I’m finished for the week, but just havin’ me tea , so I can hear anyone who leaves a message.
He’s got a problem with his cooker.
He has taken a video of the problem on his phone and wants to bring it (the phone) round to my house and let me see the video to save him money – possibly because it could require 2 visits- 1 to diagnose, 2 to fix, after getting the required part.
Why can’t the plonker just describe the problem over the phone?
We do carry lots of spares on the van ( elements, motors, stats etc)
In any case we only charge for one call anyway , fixed price + part.I guess thats a problem for us engineers who work from home, people think your’e on call 24/7.
I have had close neighbour’s bending my ear but a VIDEO- thats a first.Clive. Thank god its Friday!

He’ll pick your brains then buy the spares from eBay and you’ll be lucky to get a “thank you!”

how about 7.30 am this morning (sunday) cx wanting to know what time i will be with her on tues. i think i will tel her at 1 am tues morning !!!

We obviously don’t have a life , Do we?
The plonker still keeps leaving me voicemail messages after 7.00 pm .
I ring him back nest day in working hours and leave him a voicemail & so it goes on…..
You’d think he would ring someone else, I wish he would!

7o’clock last night just taking my tea out of the oven when the phone rings with a member of our local ethnic minority wanting a washing machine repair.’Tomorrow afternoon ok ‘ I say. She says ‘No you come now’. ‘Erm no’ I reply ‘tomorrow afternoon’. Phone went dead. Seems to be a lot more of this sort of thing about.

Oh yes I get just the same but it is usually Sunday at around 1pm…Sunday lunch time. I`ve even had some Asian guy phone me up on Xmas Day saying his tumble dryer had gone wrong and that he needs it fixed today; he was given a piece of advice in no uncertain terms! They don`t give a S*it it`s all me me, they don`t think and they don`t care these days whether foreigners or not. I don`t mince my words but then on the other hand I`ve seen my customer base drop but that`s down to el cheapo machine replacements, shame I don`t know enough about repairing classy expensive modern machines though their owners are even worse by all accounts or on the rare ocassion I`ve got involved; they expect the most for a 35 quid call out and labour and expect the earth and kiss arse with it at 7 pm but don`t want to pay out of hours` charges to save them their time!! And so there`s a simple rule that I have: I don`t do it any longer where surprise surprise there`s a sudden u-turn on the other end of the phone especially when they know, as they all phone around, that practically everyone else is charging much more.

I had one 2 days ago wanted me to just look at her dishwasher. No problem I said when are you there for me to have a look, will have to be after 8pm she replied, so I have to work all day and night then
Needless to say I didn’t go, been doing this too long now to keep bowing to people like thatRe: Heard it all now!!
Stick a £100 call out and £40 ever 15 min labour.
I did a phone call back to one once, they rang me at 9 ish, left a message. I was up at 4am going to Stanstead so l thought why not, rang the number and on second attempt guy answered really groggy and a bit grumpy. I was extremely polite and informed him l was outside trying to get access. He was not too amused.

Going to Stanstead? At 4am? Were you visiting to repair or flying off to sunny climes to repair?
