Hi all
I am posting to ask if anyone can give me some pointers towards fixing my dishwasher.The d/w was running for a prolonged period without heating up and the display was showing a figure ‘1’ so I think I’m right in saying that there is a general heater problem and I am hoping that it may be a dry joint on the circuit board as the dishwasher is only 3 yrs old and I would think that the element should still be okay. Unfortunately a call to the local service engineers would be financially unviable and it would be cheaper to scrap the machine and start again, so I’m hoping to fix it myself and save it from the knackers yard!!!
I just need some help to locate the relevant circuit board and to find the fault (assuming that is where it is of course!)
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Whilst we await one or two of the Bosch experts to come along can I just say that that statement is, shall we say ‘daft’, and that is being polite. :rolls:

What you need to check first is the water level . Once its up & running , how much water is there in the base ? It should cover the whole base and reach about 1/2 way up the salt pot lid. Also , does it make any funny noises when it initially fills ?

@iadom I was quoted £200 for parts and a £50 call out fee – go figure – but thanks for your inputnomad it is filling up okay, no funny noises but just runs for ever and doesn’t heat up

Not funny, but perhaps a tad rude. 😥
You made no mention in your first post of the £250 estimate and in your subsequent posts give no indication to intimate that the person who gave the estimate actually called to inspect your appliance or was just on the phone.
Given the lack of such information I consider my observations to be valid. 😉

I really just wanted to know where to locate the relevant circuit board so I could check for an obviously blown/dry joint. The only one I can see is behind the control panel and that is enclosed in a case which I can’t see how to open!

It easily unclips from its mounting plate. No force required, just careful logical application. 😉

Hi I checked the module out and there are no obviously blown/dry joints = could anyone tell me what other checks I can make to the heater element and any other components? Someone mentioned something about a ‘bypass’ – at least I think that’s what he said?!

Don’t assume the heater is ok just because the appliance is only around 3 yrs old ! As with any electrical appliance , a failure can occur anytime. A simple resistance test of the heater element should give you a reading of between 25 and 30 ohms….POWER OFF FIRST OBVIOUSLY !!!
Have you run the machine since the first failure to see if the fault repeats itself ? A quick wash cycle should get the water heating after approx 5 mins. The reason I ask is that low water levels can cause a no heat fault as previously mentioned , and an upturned vessel in the wash load , collecting wash water , can be a factor too .
