Hello. Could someone by any chance ID this bit of my dishwasher that’s fallen out after being moved? Can’t for the life of me find out where it should be located

thats the oveflow detector. there should be a polystyrene float to go with it that activates the switch if water gets down there

this may be the correct part complete with float as i am fairly certain hoover dishwashers are made by the same people

    look for yourself and decide

Thanks Dave. I shall have to buy another, the poly float has gone missing. Do you have any idea where it should be located?Looking at the underside it’s not obvious..

its bolted to the floor pan underneath the dishwasher

what worries me is normally this part cant be damaged as there is a steel plate or plastic in some cases across the bottom of the dishwasher

    watch this

you can see your part attached to the steel base

Ah, I see now. I’m guessing the removal men haven’t been especially careful, I have no steel or plastic plate? I’ll have to check and see if they can be bought and the moving company can pay for it! I dread to think of what further damage they could have done. Never rains but…

the base is the sort of part that does not go so you may stuggle to get it

all you can do is contact hoove to see if you can get one

    https://shop.hoover.co.uk/gb_en/spare-parts

but if its been ripped off you may have problems securing it again

suggest you look down the route of claiming on the movers insurance at least tell them as the longer you leave it the more likley they can blame you

Was wondering if anyone knew why this machine is now either filling then emptying or trying to fill and emptying at the same time? Got the baseplate sorted but still not playing nice?
