Have just fitted new element in my Creda main oven as the old one had burnt out. But now light not going on and no heat does this mean that the themostat no needs replaced. 😳

    Thanks

    Re: Help

Its a possibilty but an electrical test of the thermostat is the only way to make sure without going ahead and risking changing it without testing.

Did the old element just fail or did it blow any fuses?

    Re: Help

TBH you would need a wiring diagram to check all possibilities, the fault could lie elsewhere, in the selector switch for instance.

A full model number would help to identify the exact part so you could then make a decision on wether or not to take a punt on it. 😉

    Re: Help

Had two of these recently dependant upon model number?
If the element goes with one almighty bang it blows a link on selector switch :rolls: It can be clearly seen by burnt marks on selector!!!
power off if checking hope this is helpfull?
