It may be a blockage in the filter Jayne, the machine has detected an error and will abort the programme. The flashing lights indicate an error code but I don’t have the list for this model (as it’s quite new) so I can’t tell what it means.
Check all the usuals, filter, water taps on etc. You could also try resetting it (if it’s the same as the earlier models). Turn the knob to an off/black dot position then hold the satrt button in for a few seconds, that works sometimes as well 🙂

Thanks Dave I’ll try that when I get home don’t know where the filter is on this machine I expect it’s behind panel at the front of the machine closest to the floor….it’s not got any details of how to clean filter in manual!!

Oops 😳
Ignore that bit, this machine doesn’t have one.
It’s the first of this kind I’ve seen with an Ariston badge on it, it’s actaully (mechanically at least) a Hotpoint but with Indesit/Ariston electronics 😯
