Re: help!
how long have you left it before you have decided that it is not going to ‘move on’ ?
If there is a fault on the machine the timer knob would start clicking round without stopping and the mains neon would flash a set number of times to indicate an error code.
The timer will not advance in the wash cycle until the water has been heated to the selected temperature.
A quick and simple check, select a wash, when the machine starts to tumble and you think it is not going to advance, go to your electricity meter and depending on the type of meter you have, the dial will be spinning quite fast or, the red light will be blinking rapidly if the washing machine is heating the water. Make sure you do not have any other high current using appliances such as cookers, kettles, irons etc on at the same time.
Remember, “a watched pot never boils” 😉
PS. If you manually move the timer after selecting a programme, it will rotate right round until it reaches the spot you started it on. To cancel a programme, turn the knob to one of the black dots and wait until the neon light flickers. Switch OFF, reset to the programme you require and switch back ON.
