Help Cooker Tap/Knob problem MEIRELES GAS COOKER

Hi Everyone,

I hope that someone can help me…I have a Meireles Gas Cooker & Oven. Model no: G9558 ADTXN, Serial No: 060047222

The knob which controls gas oven ie turns it on or off and controls the temperature of the oven does not work. It allows gas through into the oven and i can ignite the gas but for some reason it does not turn off. I have to turn the gas off from the main supply to turn off. The knob also seems to have changed positions, whereas before when turning anti-clockwise the oven would come on, now you have to turn clockwise. I think the knob has been dislocated from its main position. My question is, can i/is it safe for me to remove this knob and re-position the knob/tap to correct place??? Also the ignition button has stopped working a month ago and i have been manually igniting gas but don’t think its related as the hob is working fine and only oven knob not working.

Any advise is gratefully received.

Contact your local GAS SAFE service technician…..DO NOT MESS WITH IT YOURSELF…….DO NOT USE IT UNTIL SORTED!!!!!!

Hi, I have a Meireles cooker, did you manage to get any spare parts in the UK? I have a Meireles cooker and am really struggling to find anyone that stocks spare parts in the uk?
