Participanti been to look at a fridge freezer today seperate compartments and compressors. proline model 7663
freezer compressor runs for a bit and cuts out. compressor can be touched seems quite hot. not shure if this is the overheating cut out on side of compressor or low gass and compressor overworking ?
freezer is freezing all over no warm spots.
problem is the overheating was changed a while back and relay. i only do thermostats relays and cut outs on fridges i dont touch compressors and regassing. can somebody advise please. or recomend a engineer in wolverhampton i can pass the job onto if needed. Thanks
( need a reply before wednesday if possible as customer has freezer full)June 28, 2005 at 4:07 pm #139762Dave_Conway

It’s either compressor, gas shortage or even a system blockage by the sound of it.
As it’s a Proline I would recommend she bought a new fridge/freezer in all honesty 😉
If she does want a call, a PM to johnmac11 should do the trick as his company covers that area.

I’ve had loads of these Proline’s all with same fault, compressor running continuously and very hot. Clearly not pumping any gas round and no cooling taking place. Suspect system leaks. They are usually exchanged. I’ve heard that several have had compressors fitted and either didn’t cure or same thing happened again.

i went to this fridge as the shop that sold fridge to the chap said the relay was faulty and they couldent come out for a few weeks. after checking i found relay was allready replaced along with the cut out there was burn marks to compressor and the connections box from the original fault before fridge was sold second hand to new owner. if anybody can check it or possible repair please pm me, chap is a taxi driver only home 1 to 3 pm daily ( working nights ) i have the chaps details and phone number. thanks
