We have owned this washing machine for 14 months and last night it turned itself on at 4am in the morning without anyone touching it, unless of course we have acquired a ghost !!
Went down and had a look and it was trying to fill up and pump out.
It also had the rinse hold and mini load lights constanly on (not flashing) and the on/off switch was flashing.
I had the pump apart tonight and checked for blockages along with all pipes and u-bends in the utility plumbing – all clear and no problems.

Has anyone got any idea’s on resolving the problem or shall I just throw it in the ‘skip’ and by another machine, which will definately not be a hotpoint/Indesit !!!

The machine is covered by the manufacturers five year parts guarantee. It sounds like a main PCB failure. You will only have to pay the labour, all parts will be free.

Now unless you can go out and buy a machine for under £100 I think a phone call to the Indesit Company would be advisable. 😉

Just make sure you resist the temptation to pay them another £60 for a extra 12 months cover, they will try to push this but in effect they are asking you to pay £60 to cover the possibility of having to pay £100, not the best odds even for a machine stuffed with Indesit parts. :rolls:

Also if they tell you the repair is only guaranteed for 14 days, what the actually mean is after the repair the whole machine is guaranteed for 14 days. The repair you pay for is covered for 12 months. 😉
