Hi everyone. I went to use my dishwasher few days ago (hotpoint Ultima FDW85) and started making a strange noise. Its about 18 months old.
I select normal wash (1hr:28m cycle) press start and then it pumps out any remaining water and then i can hear it take fresh water in and usually within a minute of pressing start i can hear it washing but now all i can hear is a bubbling/boiling sound and the wash does not start, it just continues to boil the water by the sound of it.
Any ideas what the problem is ?

    Thanks. Lee

    Yes, its an Indesit. :rolls:

Sounds like the main circulation motor/pump is faulty.

Thanks for the reponse. i take it then that hotpoint is made by indesit and products are crap quality. Im going to have a go at taking it apart, got nothing to lose. I may end up buying a new one, and it certainly wont be a hotpoint again.

    Thanks for you help.

Hotpoint is now part of the Indesit Company – draw your own conclusions.

Quick access to circulation pump – get round the back and remove the upper of the two lower cover panels. The motor shaft has a slot in the end – you can use scewdriver to see if the motor is free to turn or not.

    Power off first, of course.
