ParticipantHi, i made the mistake for buying an indesit cooker (wish I had read your site before!) however I was in luck, the hob plate cracked on the first one and the body was twisted on the second, naturally I ain’t going back for thirds!!! I am getting my money back and I would like a nice reliable cooker, there are 5 of us living in this flat and often all cooking seperately, I would like a ceramic hob, and a double fan oven, it needs to be 50cm and I like cooking with a wok so it needs to be as hot as possible. There are 2 chefs in the family!
Any help appreciated! Thanks 😀

Would love it, but don’t have gas in the house and can’t afford to get it plumbed in!

Ouch. Two chefs, five people cooking and you can only have a 500 wide cooker, that’s a tall order.
The only thing I was going to suggest is to have a look at the Smeg ones as they will be “okay” given the circumstances, but they ain’t gonna take mega punishment and don’t expect pro results from them. However, it appears that there are no 500 wide ones around now. 😕
I’d be doubtful of any 500 wide cooker giving the results you’d get from professional cooking though to be fair as well as standing up to that sort of use.
But for that sort of use forget the cheap stuff, none of them will hack the environment it’s in.
Don may be able to shed some light though.

K.Quite true 😉
So forgetting the lower end of the market I have found three which are worth looking at. Due to the amount of people this machine is serving I have gone for double ovens of which the main one will be fan operated and the smaller one will be traditional heating. Also all three feature ceramic hobs for easy cleaning. Belling E336, Cannon C50EK and the Zanussi ZCE5200. IMO the Zanussi is probably the better produced machine followed by the Cannon and the Belling.

DonBelling E336 is just a rebadged BEKO so probably cheaper to buy the BEKO version.http://www.mainstreamlogistics.com/cgi- … n=&scid=43
