ParticipantIt’s out of guarantee, but hardly been used. First, starting from ‘mixed load’ program, it began stopping (not pausing) just before rinse/spin – it used to rinse/spin at the end of this progam 😥 . So, I began THEN manually putting it on a separate ‘rinse/spin’ program – hey presto, it worked 😀 But only about on four consequtive ocassions 😥 Sudennly, the power light on the machine went off altogether, and everything died 🙁 AAh – the fuse on the wall connector, or the house circuit breaker’, I thought. But NO, both are fine. The machine is full of water, as I found out when I opened the door to retrieve my clothes 🙄 Anybody any idea what the problem could be – I am on DIsabled Living Allowance (ie very little), so I wonder if anyone has a vague idea of how muich it might cost to get fixed? Or if I could even fix it myself? MAny thanks.

Hi Sloshy2004
If the electric supply to your washer is ok then the fault could be in several different areas ranging from a wire off to a faulty electronic module. Without a degree of expertise to be able to trace through the various circuits you are going to be struggling.
Your original fault probably is related but it may be a 2nd unrelated fault.
Consider getting some help if you can on this.
:zap: If you do have a look yourself make sure you remove the appliance plug BEFORE doing anything else. :zap:
Regards – Andy 🙂

ParticipantThanks for advice, Andy. Mike, I opened the hinged plastic flap on the bottom right hand corner of the machine (there’s a plastic screw-in thing behind it) – the only number on the back of the plastic flap is 2/2, seems too short to be a model number? It’s next to a triangle (British Kite Mark, I think), with >ABS< underneath. Am I looking in the right place? Thanks, Nev

HEY GUYS!!! Thanks loads (washing machine loads 😀 ) for your help and suggestions. I have just accidentally found the fault!! It is the the door switch. I waggled the door around (a plastic, flimsy thing), and suddenly, all started working again 😀 Quite what wil happen when it gets to the end of the cycle remains to be seen. Best wishes all, from Nev
