ParticipantHi All, I am the proud father of a 8 day old baby boy, who is lovely, but is creating a huge amount of washing, that we can’t dry. We have a 6 month old washing machine, that is doing fine, but we need a tumble drier. The drier will go in the garage, so size, shape, colour, ect does’nt matter, the garage is only single skinned, so i can easily cut a vent in the wall for it, if you reccomend a vented one. The drier will mainly be used for babies clothes, so load size does’nt matter.
I am just after a good reliable machine that will do the job well, I don’t really want to go to Currys / Comet and get ripped off with a machine, with lots of features that I don’t need.
Any advice on what machine, and where to buy, will be much appreiciated. I haven’t set a buget, but will pay what is needed, for a decent machine.
Thanks in advance. Paul. pmac.February 16, 2011 at 10:23 am #344806don

Hi pmac
As the garage could get quite cold due it being only single skinned construction I would not recommend a sensor dryer as on average they require an ambient temperature of +5 degrees Celcius to operate correctly.
Instead I would go for a straight forward vented timed dryer like the White Knight 44AW They are a good all round machine at a reasonable price and spare parts should they be required are inexpensive.
Congratulations to you both on the birth of your baby boy 😀

b&q are the cheapest b&*t@rds out there atm, but get it from an inde, itll be a few quid more but they will almost always certainly help you out when you get an issue which is simple over the phone, but would cost you a £69 quid call out from serviceforce… 🙂

Hi Guys , thanks for the advice, I still haven’t got a dryer yet, I am looking to get one next week, is the White Knight 44AW still the best one to go for?, or is there a more suitable model for my needs and location (single skinned garage)
I am also looking for a basic under counter size fridge to go in the garage, I’m not bothered if it has an ice box or not, it is just an overspill from the on in the kitchen. If anyone can help me out with products, or recommend a retailer that could do me a deal On both it would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks in Advance.Paul (pmac)

Hi
The problem with putting new refrigeration into your garage is that it won’t work when the temperature drops below +15c ambient temperature.it may work for a while then stop then start again when it gets warm.
