Help or advice on Miele w2104 washing machine code

Hi guys, i love this web sight, can anyone give me a little advice, i have a Miele W2104 Washing machine and the rinse light has just started flashing and the program stops its just over two years old and Miele say that its a major job. Can anyone give me an indication as to what may be wrong, how long to fix it and can it be fixed buy a novice. Also can it be over ridden so the machine can be used in the intrim. Rinse Light error is A Drive Fault
Simplest thing to check is the Drum Movement
Turn drum to see if it is not restricted in any way (IE Something caught between bowls)
Try this with drum belt on And then off to check free movement of motor
Other than that can be a Motor fault
IE worn motor brushes faulty Tacho or motor
