ParticipantHi all if you take a look at my other thread you will see the situation I am left in with my other Bosch machine so its looking like its time for a new machine
I am looking at a low cost machine I live on my own and do about 1 or 2 loads a week tops
I have found 2 cheap Bosch machines and 1 Samsung ( only reason I have even looked at the Samsung is the 5 year warranty
BOSCH WAB24161GB Washing Machine – White £250 currys
Bosch WAB28161GB = 269 John lewis
SAMSUNG ecobubble™ WF8EF5E0W4W Washing Machine – White = £300 currys
The 300 on the Samsung is really pushing my budget but I have to admit the 5 year warranty is attractive.November 19, 2015 at 8:44 am #432901Seamy

Try A Beko, great value for money.

Hi
It’s a trade off really, Bosch have their own service network which is very good. Samsung is a little more sparse and the spares at times can be slow.
Samsung reliability seems okay on the ones we have sold so the five year warranty could be a good peace of mind buffer. We sell more Bosch so we see more for repair. So I guess it’s a six of one and half a dozen of the other.
The Bosch WAE28161 at John Lewis could be worth the extra for the 1400 spin.

You’ll need to think of replacing it again then after 3 yrs or so. Cheap end Bosch not good. Top end just marginally better. Look for Bosch’s made up sister Siemens and one with a 5 yr warranty would be your best option. Quality cheap and you’re talking Beko for sure.

That’s the 6kg 1200 spin, still a good buy with the two year warranty.

To be fair my old bosch was cheap I have just worked out the drum was only 4.5kg waa24160gb/01 and the only reason its leaking is either because I overloaded it or it was a really unbalanced load and the machine danced all round the kitchen and its shook the life out the machine and caused a leak that I can’t even find…not coming out the pipes or door seal so I can only assume the drum casing is cracked under the counter weights or a place I can’t get too. other than this the machine does actually work perfectly.
its been over 5 years and not a single issue with it.
its a month before xmas and I just don’t have the money to spash out on a 400 pound plus machine right now.
Not getting a beko its only a 1 year warranty and lesson learned from that is my last one year warranty machine lasted exactly 13 months to the day lol
Think I will go with the WAE24167GB for £250 and 2 year warranty
its bigger than my old machine same spin speed has a 15 min wash program that will come in handy ….all in all its feature packed when you look at my old machine in comparison.
Thanks for the advice guys -
