help please

hi does any one know any thing about the commotion pat tester you plug the appliance plug top into the socket on the front and press test and a ligh comes on if every thing is all right and if there is a fault it will bring on one of two light one for insulation or a earth fault it is yellow in colour and looks like a battery charger and does any one know if there should be a earth wire clamp to attach to a earth like seaward 500 tester and what kind of money are the worth and are the a good tester thanks 🙂 fasetester.

Plenty of PAT testers out there now. Either the pass or fail type or the more professional ones that give a reading for you to interpret and pass or fail accordingly. If you are doing our sort of stuff, ie fully earthed, 3 core cable stuff, then the seperate earth lead is not used. The Seward ones at least do come with one though.

thanks for your reply just a fellow is selling one and i was wondering if any one had any experience of that type so if the do the job it does not matter what make the are as long as the are working properly 🙂 fasetester.

yes eastlmark that is the name of it when you plug in appliance and press the test button two lights light one for insulation and another for earth the lights only for a few sec there is a timer that cuts them out you can check it on ebay iwent round to see it as he lives local 🙂 fasetester
