we have a Hotpoint washer dryer, model RD1076JD UK

it turned itself off and won’t turn back on again. we had an engineer come look at it and he said it needed a noew main PCB and a new display PCB

the machine is just over 5 years old and just outside it’s warranty. they told us that the PCB’s are now obsolete and we should try and get some from a parts company, but they need to be pre-programmed, because their engineers can’t flash them

    so i have two problems

    1) i don’t really know what i’m looking for and the repair company won’t put me in touch with their engineer to ask him
    2) the parts sites don’t say whether the PCB’s are pre-programmed or not and they can’t/won’t answer my queries about them

    i’ve found these…

    https://www.partmaster.co.uk/hotpoint/rd-1076-jd-uk-f100283-769991002833/main-pcb/product.pl?pid=5274978&path=66991,52516:66992&model_ref=15148703

can anybody tell me which of the two main pcb’s i’ve linked to is the right one and if the display pcb is correct?

also, can i assume because it doesn’t say anything on the website about it, that these are pre-programmed boards? if they’ve come out of an existing machine, that’s seems like a reasonable guess…

i’m at my wits end with this, so i’d really appreciate any help you can give me!

    many thanks!

also to look any spares you will need the commercial code and serial no off the label

thank you. they gave us this code – 805281156 – but it doesn’t seem to have enough digits. the ones i’ve seen have 13 digits.

thanks for the link, i’ll see if i can find it

ok, so i think i’m going to try and remove the pcb’s and get them repaired. i’m ok with the tools, so i don”t think it will be too difficult for me and i’ve found a couple of vids that will help.

the commercial code is on the label inside the door and sometimes repeated on the rear

it gets easier the more you do but putting it at the bottom has lots of negative about it

they put it in before the tub so its easy for them, for us its hard to get at, it can get condensation on due to cold air at floor level and add to the fact thats its well placed for slugs to get into and and i have had quite a few damaged board because of that
