Help Please – Daewoo DWD-G1281B – Dim Screen/Broken

Hi,

This machine is about 3 years old – it came with our flat and has worked perfectly until last week.

Last week it was near the end of a no. 4 cycle (normal 40 degree wash) and it didn’t spin. I turned the cycle selector to spin and pressed the start button. The machine didn’t respond so i turned the cycle selector around again to spin and tried again. On the 3rd attempt the machine did an spin cycle.

Yesterday i was doing another load, same cycle as before and the machine stopped again towards the end without having spun the washing. I tried doing what i did before but the display screen was not working.

Later that evening i had another look. As the room was darker i could see that the screen was displaying the number of cycle it was turned to but the screen was very dim – so dim it couldn’t be seen in sunlight. When i pressed the start/hold button the screen went off. I tried this several times on different cycles and the same thing happened.

I have tried turning it off and on again at the wall but cannot find any info on the web as to what has caused the problem – no error code to look up!

Any help would be really appreciated – can it be fixed or do i need a new machine?
