Hi there, I have a Baumatic fridge freezer (BF140W)bought 16 months ago from Curry’s. The thing has recently packed up !!! 🙁
Neither the Fridge or the freezer will cool down! ie: no refridgeration.There is electricity to the thing as the light comes on … just nothing else.
The motor/compressor at the back is hot (not too hot that you cant touch it though). When I turn the temperature dial inside the fridge up and down, there is no clicks or other indications that the fridge is trying to work !! Therefore, Im thinking it might be the thermostat ?? Although this is just a guess as Im not an engineer by any means!Could anyone spare a few minutes to reply back if they think they can help me fix my problem? ( if I need a new part also, some places to order from would be fantastic too !)

It actually doesn’t sound like a thermostat I’m afraid to tell you, it sounds much more like a faulty compressor.
To replace a compressor you’re looking at the best part of what the machine is worth as I see they’re still listed as a current model for ~£140-£200.
The only way to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure though is to have a good look at it in all honesty but I certainly would not advise buying parts on spec, such as a stat to test it with.
