The power switch on the above vac will no longer latch on, you have to keep the switch pressed down continually. Let go and the motor stops.
I’d like to split the case and replace the switch but I can’t work out how…..
I have removed the four screws at the front inside where the bag is situated and can partially open the case but can’t open it more that an inch or two. It feels as if there are a screw or two hidden somewhere towards the back of the cleaner, possibly under the switch/cable retract covers.
Has anybody managed to open one of these cleaners and can point me in the right direction?
    Many thanks

    Hi Dave,
Have looked all over the machine, even under the label but can’t see any more holes for screws.
I assume the wheels just pull off as they appear to be all one piece, no removable caps to be seen.
If you have seen one of these cleaners any idea how you remove the pedal covers or shall I just try and pry them off. I can’t really make things much worse I feel.

    Cheers

not seen one i can remember and there is no workshop manual so can only guess. this is a parts breakdown so can get part numbers but finding screws thats trial and error

the foot pedals are likely and there will be plastic clips holding them in

Well, I broke a retaining pin off each cover but as expected the screws were under there. A hidden latch on each cover needs to be pressed in to allow removal by pushing each cover toward the rear of the cleaner. Once opened the switch is a simple replacement. The covers will probably go back on and still function and as it is a second cleaner aesthetics are not important.
    Cheers again

That’s why I wouldn’t go near hoover spares. Got one for £8 delivered and I thought that was on the expensive side. Anderson Electrical
